Vegetable Kadalai Curry


  • ¼ K raw Kondai Kadalai / red chana (whole bengal gram soaked overnight)
  • 1K (French Beans, Cauliflower, snake gourd (cut in 1inch pcs)
  • 1/2 Onion & 1 Tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves 5-6
  • 1/3 k Coconut (Grind the coconut along with a little water and take out thick coconut milk)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water – as required


  1. Pressure cook the soaked bengal gram adding enough water for 3 to 4 whistles.
  2. In a pan give a tadka of oil add mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion and fry till light brown add chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mash well.
  3. Then add all the vegetables and mix well.
  4. Add a cup of water and cook the veggies on medium flame till the vegetables are soft.
  5. Now add the cooked chana (Kadalai) and allow it to boil.
  6. Finally, add coconut milk and let it boil and serve.
