Sprouted Moong Uttappam


  • Moong (raw) ¼ cup
  • Carrot ½ tbsp
  • Capsicum ¼ cup
  • Cabbage ¼ tbsp
  • Onions ½ small onion
  • Ginger 1 tsp
  • Garlic 1 tsp
  • Chilies 1 in no
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Salt To taste


  1. Soak moong in water for 4-5 hours tie in a muslin cloth and allow it to sprout for a day.
  2. Chop onions, cabbage and carrots finely.
  3. Make a fine paste of ginger, garlic and chillies.
  4. Grind sprouted moong in a fine paste by adding 50 ml of water.
  5. Add the paste of ginger, garlic and chilies to moong batter and salt to taste.
  6. Heat a non stick pan smear little oil, pour a spoonful of batter and spread like uttapa.
  7. Sprinkle finely chopped cabbage, capsicum carrots and onion on top and turn it once.
  8. Remove when brown spots appear on both sides.
  9. Serve hot with chilli garlic sauce.
