Spinach Chole

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas/Chole(raw) – ¼ Kg
  • Spinach/palak (chopped)-1Kg
  • Onion(diced) ½
  • Tomato puree – ½ kg
  • Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
  • Coriander seed powder – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric/Haldi – ¼ tsp
  • Gingerpaste-1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli paste – 1/4 tsp
  • Spring onion greens – 1 tbsp
  • Oil-½ tsp
  • Lemon juice -few drops
  • Salt – as per taste

Method

  1. Soak chickpeas in water for 3-4 hours and Pressure cook them till 3-4 whistles.
  2. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, green chilli paste and onions.
  3. Saute till onion is lightly browned, add tomato puree & sauté well.
  4. Add ginger paste, spinach leaves, salt, haldi, coriander powder and mix well.
  5. Saute for 3-4 min. Add cooked chole, ¼L water, lemon juice, spring onions.
  6. Mix well and cook for about 2 min.
  7. Serve hot.
