Ragi-Jowar Khichu

Ingredients

  • Jowar atta – ½ of ¼ k
  • Ragi atta – ½ of ¼ k
  • Water – 1L
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Green chilli (chopped) – 1
  • Pinch of Hing
  • Haldi powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 4
  • Salt as per taste

Method

  1. In a vessel take oil, add jeera, haldi, green chilli, water and salt, allow it to boil.
  2. As it gets boiled take the vessel away from heat and start adding jowar flour, ragi flour gradually stirring it with no lumps.
  3. In a steamer, empty the khichu mixture in a dish. Keep that dish to steam for around 10 – 15 mins.
  4. You can sprinkle red chilli powder on top.
  5. Serve hot.
