Pancharatna dal

Ingredients

  • 5 Mix dals(raw) – 1/4k
  • 1.Chana dal
  • 2.Tur dal
  • 3.Moong dal
  • 4.Urad dal
  • 5.Masoor dal
  • Chopped tomatoes – 1/2 k
  • Chopped onions-1/4k
  • Orange Pumpkin + dudhi -1/2k
  • Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder -1/2 tsp
  • Coriander  powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seed- ½  tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Green chilies- 1
  • Curry leaves 3-4 nos
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp for garnishing
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil-1/2 tsp

Method

  1. Combine all the dals and pressure cook with enough water and turmeric till all the dals are cooked.
  2. Cool and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil, add the curry leaves, cumin seeds and green chillies, then add onions & ginger-garlic paste and saute.
  4. Add the tomatoes, dudhi & pumpkin mix well and saute for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked dals, chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt, mix well and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
