Palak Khichdi

Ingredients

  • (3/4 cup Mung dal + ¼ tsp rice) – ¼ cup Total
  • Palak puree – ½ cup
  • Chopped tomato – ½ cup
  • Chopped capsicum & French-beans –  ½ cup
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Cardamom – 1
  • Cinnamon-small piece
  • Ginger chilli paste – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 4 to 5 nos
  • Water – 1L
  • Small dry red chilli – 1(optional)
  • Salt-to taste
  • Ghee – ½ tsp

Method

  1. In a pressure cooker add ½ tsp of ghee, jeera, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger chilli paste.
  2. Add tomatoes till soft.
  3. Then add capsicum & French beans and palak puree & cook.
  4. Then add the washed rice-mung dal and pressure cook it using 1L of water and salt for 3 whistles.
  5. Turn off the fire.
  6. Mix well, top with red chilli.
  7. Serve hot.
