Mix Dal Paniyarram / Appe

Ingredients

  • (Green moong dal + Yellow moong dal + Urad dal) – 1/4kg raw
  • Rice – 1tsp
  • Grated dudhi – 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves (Chopped ) – 1 tbsp
  • French beans (Finely chopped ) – 1/4 cup
  • Ginger-chilli paste – 2 tsp
  • Haldi – 1/4 tsp
  • Juice of half lemon
  • Salt-to taste
  • Fruit salt (Eno) – 1/2 tsp

Method

  1. Soak mix dal & rice in hot water for minimum 2 hrs.
  2. Drain the water & grind it coarsely.
  3. Add vegs, ginger-chilli paste, salt, haldi & water.
  4. The batter should be of running consistency.
  5. Add eno, mix well & cook in a slightly greased Paniyaram pan from both sides.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney. Note – Preferably soak dals overnight to avoid fruit salt.
