Hariyali Tikki With Chole

Ingredients
For Tikki:

  • Spinach (blanched and chopped) – 1/2kg
  • Besan – ½ of ¼ kg
  • Poha (raw) – ¼ kg
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Cumin powder – ¼ tsp
  • Cabbage + French beans (chopped) – ½ kg
  • Salt to taste

For Chole

  • Chickpeas (chole-raw, Soak and then Boil) – ½ of ¼ Kg
  • Onion –  ½
  • Tomato (medium size, chopped) – 1
  • Green chillies – 1
  • Coriander powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder –  ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder  – ¼ tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) – 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber + tomato + ¼ pc onion- ½ kg Total
  • Oil – ½ tsp
  • Water – 1L
  • Salt – to taste

Method

  1. Preheat oven.
  2. Mix together spinach, red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt, veges, besan, poha, salt.
  3. Mix well, shape them into a tikki.
  4. Bake them till golden brown on both sides.
  5. For chole, grind together onion, green chillies, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai.
  7. Add the ground paste and saute for five to eight minutes till the paste turns dark brown.
  8. Add tomato and salt.
  9. Stir well and cook till well blended.
  10. Add chole.
  11. Stir well and cook for about five minutes.
  12. Add one cup of water.
  13. Stir well and boil for two minutes.
  14. Remove from heat.
  15. To serve, arrange the tikkis in a plate.
  16. Top with chole, sprinkle onion, cucumber, tomato and coriander leaves.
  17. Serve hot.
