Dal Soup / Shorba

Ingredients

  • Yellow moong dal (raw) – ½ of 1/4 k
  • Chopped Spring onions with greens – 1/3 k
  • Chopped french beans+ baby corn – 1/2k
  • Finely chopped garlic clove – 1
  • White pepper powder – 1/4th tsp
  • Lemon juice – 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1/4th tsp
  • Curry leaves – 3 to 4 leaves
  • Salt  to taste
  • Oil – 2 to 3 drops
  • Water – as required

Method

  1. Blend the boiled yellow moong dal to make a coarse paste.
  2. Can add water, if required.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  4. Add the dal paste, salt, and white pepper powder, mix it well.
  5. Add cumin powder, lemon juice, spring onion greens, vegetables, salt and water (depend on desired consistency), mix them well and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Pour it in a bowl and serve hot.
