Dal Palak

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup chana dal or moong dal
  • 1 cup chopped spinach leaves
  • ½ cup chopped tomato
  • 1 green chili sliced
  • 2 tsp garlic n ginger (grated)
  • Red chilli pd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander  & cumin powder
  • 1 pinch turmeric powder
  • Hing
  • Cumin seeds

Method

  1. Soak the chana dal for 2-4 hour. Pressure-cook with 1 cup of water & a pinch of salt & turmeric pd for 2-3 whistle.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, splutter the cumin seeds.
  3. Then add garlic, green chilies & hing & sauté for a minute.
  4. Add tomato & ginger along with the rest of the spices & sauté for a minute.
  5. Finally add the spinach leaves, boiled dal & salt to taste.
  6. Cook till done.
  7. Squeeze lemon juice before serving.
