Methi Chana Masala

Ingredients

  • Chana dal – 1/4k
  • Bottle gourd (dudhi, grated) – 1/2k
  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
  • Eno – 1 tsp
  • Green chilli paste – 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – ¾ tsp
  • Coriander for garnishing
  • No tempering

For Ameri Khaman:

  • Take ready dhokla, grate it
  • Add 1/2k grated cabbage & 1/4k pomegranate

Method

  1. Soak raw chana dal for 4-5 hours.
  2. Grind it into a smooth paste, add grated dudhi, green chilli paste, lemon juice, salt, water & whisk it to make a smooth batter.
  3. Just before steaming, add eno & mix.
  4. Pour mixture on a greased thali.
  5. Steam for 10-12 mins.
  6. Cut into pieces & garnish with coriander.
  7. Serve it with green chutney.
