Brown Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • Barley (raw) – ¼ kg
  • Chopped veggies (cabbage, bell peppers, French beans, zucchini, broccoli) – 2kg,
  • Spring onions chopped – 1 tbsp,
  • Garlic chopped – 2 to 3 cloves
  • Soy sauce – ½ tsp
  • Chilli sauce – ½ tsp
  • White pepper powder – a pinch
  • Vinegar – ½ tsp
  • Oil – ½ tsp
  • Water – 1 ½ kg
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Pressure cook rice after soaking it for 6 hrs. Add just 2.5 times water of rice quantity.
  2. Heat oil in a wok, add spring onions and garlic & saute.
  3. Add the remaining veggies and saute for two minutes.
  4. Add cooked rice and salt &cook for a minute, stirring it.
  5. Add soy sauce, white pepper powder and mix thoroughly.
  6. Add vinegar, mix well and serve hot.
